Systems Engineer

ITA’s Hardware Operations Team is seeking a Systems Engineer to join this fast-paced, dynamic team. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the installation and support of production and internal systems in ITA's data centers, and ensuring data center systems are operating nominally.

Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain hardware, software in ITA's data centers in support of production and internal operations.
• Diagnose and fix hardware, software issues in ITA's data centers.
• Work on data center related issues including user account management and support, DNS and Web services administration, application administration in support of Hardware Operations.
• Work on data center related tickets in Hardware Operations ticket system.
• Develop infrastructure to support ITA's data center operations with other Systems Engineers.
• Participation in 24hr on-call rotation with other Systems Engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
• A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a Linux and/or multiple Unix platform environment
• Experience working in a large scale, highly available Linux and/or multiple Unix platform environment
• Proficient with command line Linux / Unix use and TCP/IP networking
• Knowledgeable about systems administration best practices

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

• Experienced in supporting Linux in a production environment.
• Skilled in diagnosing and correcting hardware and Linux configuration problems in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experienced with PC hardware components and technologies like RAID arrays, storage systems (SAN, NAS), tape libraries.
• Experience with SMTP, DNS, LDAP and related technologies
• Motivated to learn new technologies quickly with minimal support and guidance
• Able to communicate effectively and interact professionally with a diverse group of staff
• Detail-oriented and organized with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Must have own transport
• Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds of equipment.

This role requires some international travel.
