QA Lead Engineer, Structured Web Search
We are looking for an enthusiastic QA professional to join our semantic web team! You will be the project's founding QA Engineer, working with a small group of programmers to design and carry out both manual and automated testing of a new website that performs information extraction, machine learning, automatic data transformation, and search. A great opportunity to get involved in the early phase of an exciting new project, working with talented software developers and leading edge technology.
Responsibilities: • Develop and execute test strategy and plans for our web-based GUI and back-end data acquisition and storage components
• Help build the QA team as the project moves towards public launch
• Bug discovery: find, isolate, and report on all kinds of bugs
• Bug lifecycle: monitor, retest and close bug cases, working closely with engineers
• Publish metrics, test reports
Qualifications: • Experience with XML, JSON, RDF, or databases valuable
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision
Special Knowledge/Skills Required: • 5+ years QA experience with commercial consumer hosted web applications; distributed, scalable systems
• QA-team leadership experience
• Experience with pre-launch product development valuable
• Full understanding of QA concepts and methodology
• Experience with a formal bug-tracking system
• Familiarity with Java, Linux, and Javascript valuable
